Dan Oluoch Owino

Founder | Executive Director

Born in rural Kenya-Siaya County, Human Rights Activist and Environmentalist who believes that change starts with you. Completed High school at St. Stephen’s Mixed Secondary School in the year 2008, then joined Kenyatta University to pursue bachelor’s degree in Environmental planning and Management. He holds a second degree in International Environment and Development Studies at Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Norway. Also, in Norway, he was an activist at SAIH Organization.

Growing up in rural Kenya, urban areas and studying in Europe has made him realize that community development and environmental conservation should be given a holistic approach. This has made him together with his co-founders to establish The Green Leaf Foundation, with a vision to achieve sustainable environment. Proud to be one of the founders of an organization that will contribute to the conservation and restoration of the world’s threatened ecosystems.

Milton Omondi Ogada

Founder | Chairman

A solution Provider in the field of Environment and climate change, committed to positive transformation. He got an in-depth understanding of Climate Change issues, Project Planning and Management, Policy advocacy, Community Sensitization and Awareness creation, Resource Mobilization, Work plans Development and Projects Monitoring among other diverse fields of experience. Has served diligently in designing and executing successful series of environmental projects both in his past and current engagement at the National and Grass root level. He has seven years experience in Project Design and Management. Milton Ogada has a professional background in Environmental Planning and Management, and additional Environmental Governance.

Winnie Auma

Founder | Treasurer

An Afro-optimist who believes in a better green and prosperous Africa. Graduated from Makerere University with B.com and currently doing MBA – Finance at The University of Nairobi. Growing up from the rich fertile lands of western Uganda made her appreciate the importance of good fertile land and fresh environment. Being an environmental activist, she always plants a tree wherever she visits. Her passion is to save planet earth and advance economic growth but most importantly, connects the dots between climate change, water scarcity, energy shortages, global health, food security and youth empowerment through a sustainable clean and green environment. Just living is not enough. One must have sunshine, freedom, good economy and a little flower. It is with this that together with her co-founders they formed The Green Leaf Foundation with a niche on environmental conservation for achievement of sustainable environment.

Fredrick Kasima

Fred has a broad experience in Land use management and matters environment. he advises stakeholders on the risk that new Projects pose to the environment and make recommendations to governments and businesses on how to minimize the impacts of these projects. he also works close with mining industries to increase efficiency of their operation and thereby limit the impacts these activities have on environment.

Jared Otieno Mbory

member | Member

Holds Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University. He is registered with the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) as an associate expert and has engaged in various projects involving environmental planning. Jared is proficient in the area of Land use Planning, Project feasibility Planning, Urban Planning, Project Management, Environmental Assessment, and Occupational Health and Safety. He has experience in working with County Governments in the areas of Environmental planning policy formulation, urban public space regeneration, natural resource mapping, and community engagement.

Jared has specifically participated in World Bank funded project under the areas of Project Monitoring and Evaluation; an opportunity that endeared him to working with the local community in agricultural and conservation projects. Therefore, he is experienced in the implementation of the environmental management plans, sustainability of development projects, through the use of various development control instruments and project monitoring tools.He has also worked with various institutions and lead experts in the field of planning as a research assistant, therefore, making him an asset in the field of Land use planning and Project management.

Wycliffe Nyawade

Wycliffe Nyawade is a hardworking individual driven by the zeal for success. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University. He has a mixed wealth of experience in Environmental Issues like E.I.A., Environmental Audits, and Survey Work. Nyawade, has also been involved in media work where he has worked as a Producer and Researcher with CHAMS Media Limited for the past 2 and a half years.

He has handled media strategy and campaigns for various reputable organizations like the World Animal Protection, Kenya Bureau of Standards, International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), and the Blue Economy Conference 2018, which literally brought the world to Nairobi. Through a blend of Environmental Issues and the Media, Nyawade has the prerequisite knowledge to link the two for the prosperity of The Green-Leaf Foundation.
